why revo  - I love the support our industry professional give to each other and this is a fabulous way to give an extra helping hand when one of us really needs it- Go Team REVO!!!

about you – I’m just an ordinary ‘joe’ who loves the opportunity to share in my natural talents with others that appreciate beautiful things.

a wedding story – “never giving up on finding the true love of your life” – last year I had a bride that cancelled her wedding 1 ½ weeks before the big day- unfortunately she had to forfeit a few deposits and payments in full, but the truth was- she couldn’t marry someone that really wasn’t the ‘one’…I just got a call that she’s reunited with the ‘love of her life’ and they are planning a wedding in autumn…in Napa- where they metJ  True love is out there, it just takes a bit to get there…J

REVO hearts Wynn Austin of Le Chic Wedding Consulting

Wynn is the sweetest girl.  I have only just gotten a chance to know her and everytime we meet she is like sunshine.  She must be a fun girl to work with.  Thanks Wynn.  xoxo suzanne

why REVO?  why did you join us?

THERE ARE MANY REASONS WHY I WANTED TO PARTICIPATE IN REVO.  GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY AND HELPING OTHERS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PASSION OF MINE.  IN ADDITION TO THAT, I HAVE LOST BOTH MY FATHER, LAST YEAR AND MY FATHER IN LAW DUE TO CANCER.  I KNOW HOW HARD IT CAN BE ON THE PERSON AND THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS.  THIS IS THE LEAST I CAN DO TO LEND A HAND.

tell me something about you:

Wynn Austin, the owner of Le Chic Wedding Consulting is well known by her peers for her fun sense of humor, chic style, and passion to help people.  She graduated from San Diego State University with a BS in Finance.  She worked in the financial industry for over 10 years holding the title of Vice President.  Although she achieved much success in the finance industry, Wynn wanted a career that would give her the opportunity to be creative, help people, and have the opportunity to spend time with her family.  Now, she has the career of her dreams.  She feels so grateful to have  the opportunity to guide her clients through the process of wedding planning, and making sure they enjoy it every step of the way.

tell me some story, something related to weddings.

BEING A WEDDING COORDINATOR IS THE CAREER OF MY DREAMS.  I AM ALWAYS SURROUNDED BY LOVING COUPLES, AMAZING VENDORS, AND GET TO TOUR THE MOST BREATHTAKING VENUES.  AFTER WORKING HARD ON ALL THE DETAILS AND SEEING IT COME TO LIFE IS SO REWARDING.  THE BEST PART IS HAVING THE COUPLE TELL ME THAT THEIR WEDDING WAS BEYOND THEIR EXPECTATIONS.  THAT'S WHAT I STRIVE TO ACHIEVE.

Revo hearts Rae Florae

Paula is a super sweet friend of mine who creates beautiful work.  Some bride is going to be stoked.  thanks Paula!!

1. why REVO?  why did you join us?
I love the way our wedding industry has such a loving way of banding together for support.  I feel it is truly a representation of how we believe in love, and it's amazing power- hence the reason we all work in this unique environment of happy couples just embarking on their own journey of love.  REVO has emerged from the heart of a few people who opened themselves to feeling what it could be like to go through pain alone, and decided it wasn't necessary for anyone to have to go through that; and then took it to our amazing community of wedding vendors and asked for help- it's a simple concept, but revolutionary all the same.  Changing the perception that pain has to be covered up and suffered through in secret in order to stay successful; rather it's bringing out the best in all of us- contributing in the unselfish way we would all like to see returned to us if we ever needed.

2.  tell me something about you
I love my job!  Flowers have such amazing energy and can make a wedding come alive; I just feel blessed to be able to create the way I do and have it be appreciated by so many wonderful people!

3.  tell me some story, something related to weddings.
How could I pick just one????  There are so many!  Each couple is so unique, with their own tribulations of planning, color combinations, matters of the heart, family issues, and adorable quirks!  There is no way I could single out one story from the multitude of lovely wedding days.  Ok, well, there was that one time... just kidding.  I can't pick just one :)

REVO hearts Joe on the Nose

Who doesn't love coffee!!  Joes on the Nose is a weekly treat for Mike and I at the farmers market, now you can have that special cup of joe at your wedding.  Thanks for the awesome donation!! xoxo suzanne

Why REVO?

We're proud to be a part of the San Diego Wedding and Event Community, and REVOWeddings is a group that has come together to support one of our own. Why not help someone else on your big day?

About us:

"Joes on the Nose" is all about coffee. Our Organic Espresso Bars use only socially responsible, certified organic (and locally roasted) organic espresso and organic milks. Our barista staff is trained to pour latte art in guests' drinks- hears are our favorites at a wedding. We've been open since 2007 and are proud to have brought smiles to people's faces at all sized weddings and events. Our other offerings include our delectable Hot Chocolate Bar, Smoothie Bars, Blended Coffee Stations and our new Frozen Lemonade Bar."

Wedding Story

We have lots of wedding stories. We're proud of the response from guests at events. At a wedding of owners of local coffee shops (who, obviously, care about their coffee) we had their shop staff talking about our drinks- and asking our baristas questions. Groups of Italians (who flew in for the wedding) have thanked us for a "proper" cappuccino, which they had yet to find in the US. We love when mothers of the bride let us know how much their guests enjoyed the service, and how "they couldn't stop talking about the coffee bar." We're just stoked to be a part of someone's big day and to give our clients a fun addition to their celebrations.

Nina Brav is REVO

REVO first began in 2007 when a close friend was solely funding an Orphanage in Malawi, Africa.
We pulled together our towns best artists and fashion designers in hopes to raise some funds for this orphanage and called
it REVO. At the time we didn't think too much of it.

But before we knew it the idea to raise funds and awareness through doing the things you love caught on. You see, a lot of people
want to make a difference and just don't know how. REVO simply  provides you with the tools needed to raise funds and awareness for the causes you are passionate about (regardless of age, sex, color, or religion).

REVO is now located in 15 states and 5 countries and we are running to keep up with it.
It's a honor to be a part of starting something this beautiful.

Thank you to all the vendors for donating the services. Thank you to Suzanne Hansen for starting a REVO! Thank you for Peggi for being willing to let us help you. And thank YOU, the bride, for choosing to bid on these wonderful wedding vendors for this incredible cause.

REVO hearts Photographer Emilio Azevedo

Thank You to Emilio Azevedo for his wonderful donation to REVO weddings.  We think Emilio is the cat's pajamas!!

Why Revo?

REVO was presented to me on a ABC meeting and I related to it right the way. We can be health today and sick tomorrow. We are all made of flesh and bones and we must help each other because nobody knows the future or what could happen!
I wish all the best for Peggi!

About Us:

With a passion for photography based on the client's interest and artistic tastes, Emilio Azevedo strive to deliver images that capture the essence of each person, place or object. Born in Brazil Emilio start photographing weddings learning and improving his skills. Emilio went to a well known county photography school SFF in his city (Niteroi, Rio De Janeiro - Brazil) to learn all the technical part that involves photography.
I believe that the real task of a wedding photographer involves responsibility for portraying emotion through pictures and simultaneously telling a story about the wedding day. This doesn't mean relying on clichês or forcing people into unnatural positions or awkward poses. Rather, it's about taking what is natural to people and refining that with a few simple rules of color, composition and balance.
Emilio Azevedo has been photographing people, places, and everything else in between for more than ten years. An artist above all else, Emilio loves what he does and is ever thankful to be able to do it for a living. Emilio loves creating outstanding work for clients seeking something elegant, artistic, emotional and special.

Wedding story:
I shot my first wedding 6 years ago and immediately felt in love. A wedding day is full of emotions, joy and happiness. It's a privilege to me to be part of such an important day in a couple's life! For me it's more like a special mission where I have to tell that story with truthness and beauty.
Since my interest in photography comes from my curiosity in the human expressions, feelings and behave. What a better day to portrait a person's happiness than the wedding day? It's a day of plenitude and faith in the future.

Best,
Emilio Azevedo

REVO hearts Branches...a floral studio

Yay Thanks to Branches a floral studio for their donation =)  This auction is really getting going =)  wahoo

You can go and bid on a  $200 floral certificate from Branches on our auction here

why REVO?  why did you join us?
I am always looking for ways to help out local charities. I am a firm believer in the fact that the wedding industry is the greatest industry you could ever be a part of and that we're not just colleagues, but family. Anything I can do to help out another member of our group is such a rewarding experience. I love that we are all so willing to give back to this wonderful community in times of need, it truly is a blessing to be a part of.

tell me something about you..
BRANCHES....a floral studio, is the newest addition to a long history of passion and love that I have for this wonderful industry. For over 10 years I have worked in almost every position the wedding industry has to offer. From cake decorating, to catering, to floral designing, to wedding planning, everything has been experienced first hand to make sure I have the utmost level of expertise for my clients. I started my own wedding planning company over 5 years ago, while also working as a lead floral designer for a local floral company, after many of my clients started to request my floral services I decided to "branch out" and launch my own wedding and event floral design company. I love working with flowers, it's such a great way to spend your day. It's the best feeling in the world to be able to bring a bride her bouquet and just see her face light up with excitement. Weddings are truly my greatest passion in life.

tell me some story, something related to weddings...
True story: I've been planning a wedding with a couple for over a year. Not only was I their wedding planner but also their florist. This wedding was to take place on Thursday April 15th 2010 (tax day) On Monday April 12th I received a call from our wedding venue, the W Hotel, reporting that our beach bar venue we had booked for our ceremony and reception had burned down Sunday night. I had 3 days to come up with a whole new wedding, new plan, and new theme. After calling all my vendors requesting their flexibility and patience while we figured this out, I picked up my frantic bride and proceeded to rush down to see how bad this damage was and what our options were. Needless to say I was in full creative overhaul mode by the time we saw our options. We looked all over San Diego for other venue options and the bride and groom just weren't pleased with anything. As a last resort the W showed us another lounge room they had as an option, the bride and groom weren't in love with it but were open to suggestions. I stepped up and began showing them the potential this room had, and how with some new floral decorations on my part we could transform this room into something that would be prefect for them. I drew diagrams and created new centerpieces and floral decor ideas on the spot and they agreed that it would work after all. After needing to order extra flowers and get new vases last minute, and create more decor then originally planned, the flowers were a total hit! Everyone commented on how beautiful they were, how the bride and groom had such good taste to pick out such wonderful arrangements, and how perfect they were for this wedding. The bride and groom were ecstatic! Even with all the stress that week held their day was perfect. The bride reflected the next day saying it was the happiest day of her life. It doesn't get much better then that, and now I know I can handle anything that comes my way!   BRANCHES... a floral studio

REVO hearts Joyful Weddings and Events

Courtney is so cool, I haven't had the chance to work with her yet, but i blog stalk her.  I am a huge fan and so happy she has given to REVO.  Thanks Courtney!! Hugs, suzanne
Why REVO:
I battled cancer as a teenager so I know how it can isolate, breed fear and dampen hope. I also know how it pulls people together, grows faith and teaches how to find joy in the everyday moments. When I heard about REVO and how our amazing community of San Diego wedding vendors were pulling together to support Peggi, it filled my heart. It is a true example of what a community should be & I could not be happier to be a part of showing love and sharing joy! ~Courtney (owner/head planner)

About us:
We are a boutique wedding planning company, offering event planning and design for the detail loving bride. We find joy in the moments: the smiles, the hugs, the giggle, handholding, and glee in the details: the perfect ribbon, the thoughtful gift, the treasured heirloom. We are in awe that we get to be a part of something so special, so huge. We love what we do. Most of all, we love getting to help our clients celebrate their love in style.
Thanks so much! I am so excited to be a part of this!

Courtney

REVO weddings loves -Bliss Event

Rachel and her team of girls at Bliss Event are amazing!!!!   I wonder who the very lucky bride will be who wins them in the auction.  time to bid folks =)  Thanks Rachel!! xoxo suzanne  ps Rachel let me pic some images to show off Bliss - seriously these girls are full of style!!
My thoughts on Revo Weddings:
One of the things I love about my job as a Wedding Coordinator in San Diego is being part of the 'wedding and special events community'.  The people in this community are absolutely amazing and after years of getting to know them, I consider many of them my dear friends.  It warms my heart to know that we look out for each other and truly care about PEOPLE because that is the essence of our jobs and businesses.... helping couples on their most important day and helping others with their very special events.
When Revo Weddings was started to help Peggi Walker, I knew right away that I was "in"!  It is exhilarating to see how the community has come together to support an individual and do all they can to make sure that she can focus her energies on healing.  I cannot help but think that if something tragic ever happens to me, I would have the support of the community, and that is a heartwarming type of "insurance" to have.
Many thanks to Suzanne, Kate, Meghan, Sharon, & Sabrina for their hard work on Revo Weddings.  I wish you all good things... I believe your "karma points" are adding us as you put your valuable time and effort into such a worthy cause.
xoxo,
Rachel Welland

Thanks to everyone who bids =)

I was posting on my shewanders blog and decided to post it on REVO as well =)   Here goes    "It occurred to me that I have one more person to thank.  At some point between now and April 2011  I am going to photograph a REVO wedding.  We will get to photograph the ceremony, the romantics, the first dance, and meet all the friends and family of a couple that hired us through the REVO auction.  That couple will have helped me in so many ways.  They will have given to my friend Peggi and helped me realize the dream of REVO weddings.  They are like a validation that -People are Great.  At the start of this auction I really hoped that people would give of themselves for someone else.  There were naysayers at the start, people who wondered if we could pull off an online auction people, who wondered who would even donate.  I just couldn't shake the feeling that given the chance our industry would surround Peggi in hope, love, community and they did.  So thanks, who ever you are that bids on us.  You are amazing to me.       Our blackout dates are currently incorrect and we are trying to update them =)  The real information is   Shewanders Photography is valid until april 30th 2011 black out dates may 24th -30th, labor day weekend, 6-11, 6-12,6- 18 5- 15,september 3-6, 12/25 1/16"
